Welcome...

Thanks for stopping by.  I'm pastor of First Baptist Church in Dupo, IL. My main purpose here is to keep you up-to-date on the life of FBC. Perhaps along the way I’ll share a few tales from the winding road…this journey called life, where God can be seen in the moments of our day if we are looking for Him.  ~Roger~

Thought for the Day

Fear and doubt are conquered by a faith that rejoices. And faith can rejoice because the promises of God are as certain as God Himself. ~ Kay Arthur ~

Words to live by...

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Ephesians 6:10-13

Adonai

Day 26 - Adonai - Lord

I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. Psalm 86:12

The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? Psalm 118:6

Adonai is translated Lord. It signifies God’s ownership or mastership over the human family and explains His claim to our unrestricted obedience.  Lordship means complete possession on the one hand (God’s part) and complete submission on the other (our part).

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Exodus 20:1-2

The Lord is faithful to provide for His children and we express our love through our devotion and obedience.

I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." Psalm 16:2
