Welcome...

Thanks for stopping by.  I'm pastor of First Baptist Church in Dupo, IL. My main purpose here is to keep you up-to-date on the life of FBC. Perhaps along the way I’ll share a few tales from the winding road…this journey called life, where God can be seen in the moments of our day if we are looking for Him.  ~Roger~

Thought for the Day

Fear and doubt are conquered by a faith that rejoices. And faith can rejoice because the promises of God are as certain as God Himself. ~ Kay Arthur ~

Words to live by...

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Ephesians 6:10-13

Blessed

We were truly blessed last night by Songs for the Soul.  Jason and the choir did a great job and I appreciate the dedication and hard work they put in so that we could enjoy an evening of inspirational music. I appreciate those who supported the choir and I trust you were blessed as much as I was.  We had many friends and family join us for the evening too.

In his book The Me I Want to Be, John Ortberg says: God's plan is not just for us to be saved by grace - it is for us to live by grace. God's plan is for my daily life to be given, guided, guarded, and energized by the grace of God. To live in grace is to flow in the Spirit.

My prayer is that you will be guided and energized this week by the grace of God.  It is all sufficient for our every need.
